The Local Officials workshop is the first step into the world of badminton officiating. In this four-hour workshop you will be learning the fundamentals of umpiring a badminton match. Topics covered in this workshop include:
Basic Laws of Badminton
Announcing matches and types of vocabulary used by officials
Scorekeeping
The workshop includes a theory segment and an on-court segment. Please bring note-taking material and badminton gear (pen and notebook, shoes, racket if you have one, and appropriate court clothing) as you may be required to go on-court and play.
