WHAT IS THE NCCP?
The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is the certification that all coaches are required to have. Information about the NCCP can be found here.
WHAT ARE COACHING STREAMS?
Coaching certification is split into three streams and the coaching stream you go in depends on the players. To determine which stream please refer to the diagram below.
For more information on the streams, refer to this page:
WHAT IS THE UNDER 16 RULE?
As of August 5th, 2015, the minimum age for a participant to take a NCCP workshop is 14 years old and the Locker will now implement the U16 rule where participants will have to be at least 16 to receive credit for the NCCP courses that they have attended. What this means is that an individual who is U16 can still take the course and receive a credit, however, they will not be able to go through the certification process until they turn 16.
HOW CAN I SEE MY QUALIFICATIONS?
To see your NCCP transcript go to the Locker and log in or create an account with your NCCP number.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY A NEW NCCP SYSTEM IS IN PLACE? WILL I LOSE MY CERTIFICATION?
Everything you have completed in the NCCP will remain on your transcript and your past certification have be credited and transferred into the new system. You will be required to do professional development (PD) to maintain your certification. Information about PD can be found below.
I HAVE PARTIALLY COMPLETED MY CERTIFICATION IN THE OLD SYSTEM. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
As your past completed modules have been given credit, simply take the modules you are missing.
WHAT ARE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT POINTS
A new requirement is that all coaches will be required to maintain their certification by earning Professional Development (PD) points. This can be done through active coaching and taking NCCP or non-NCCP workshops. The idea is that coaches, like all professionals, are keeping themselves updated and knowledgeable. Badminton coaches have 5 years to earn 20 PD points. More information on PD points and available PD activitie can be found here

You can go to the Event Calendar and see when the next course is coming up or log into the Locker and see available courses.
