AGM Date and Call for Nominations for the Board of Directors of Badminton BC

The Annual General Meeting will be held on the evening of Friday, September 12th, 2014 at 6:30pm at the Vancouver Racquets Club. In order to uphold our Constitution & Bylaws, applications for positions on the Board of Directors must be received by 11:59pm August 13th, 2014 and submitted to nominations@badmintonbc.com

One current member of the Board is willing to stand for re-election therefore for the 2014 Badminton BC Annual General Meeting, there are two (2) Directors positions up for election with terms of office up to two (2) years.*

All members of Badminton BC, nineteen (19) years of age or older and in good standing (2014-2015), are invited to run for election to the Board.  

*If more eligible nominations are received prior to August 13th, 2014 than there are available positions on the Board of Directors, a vote will be held by email ballot (with mailout for those members in our database without email addresses who are sixteen (16) years of age or older and in good standing) to be sent out by August 22nd, 2014 and received back by September 4th, 2014.

Badminton BC's Current Board of Directors Structure

A. Six (6) Directors elected by the membership

B. Each elected Director will serve for a two (2) year term with three (3) Directors being elected at each AGM

Please note that immediately following the Annual General Meeting where the Directors at Large are elected, there is a meeting of the Board of Directors, where the current Directors elect the Officers of the Society for terms of one (1) year. These positions include: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, while all other Directors are Members at Large. All nominees are asked to evaluate their candidacy for one or more of these roles and identify this within their application form.

Nomination Process

To be eligible to nominate, be nominated, elected, appointed or continue to serve as a Director, a person must be a Voting Member of the Society in good standing (2014-2015) at the time of nomination and must be nineteen (19) years or older at the time such person's proposed service on the Board is to commence (i.e. September 12th, 2014).

The deadline for receipt of nominations is 11:59pm Wednesday, August 13th, 2014.
