COACHING CERTIFICATION TRANSFER

As of September 28th, 2016, the Coaching Association of Canada will be transferring the old Levels Coaching certification into the new NCCP system.

What this means:

Old Level 1,2 & 3 eligible coaches will have their qualifications transferred and recognized in the new system.  Courses that you have taken before will also be recognized and given credit. Coaches who have not completed the Making Ethical Decisions course will be required to take the course before receiving their full certification.

For more information on the Transfer of Qualifications, please review the CAC FAQ:

Maintenance of Certification

As of the 28th when the Transfer is complete, coaches will be expected to maintain their certification by accumulating professional development points through active coaching and engaging in development and education programs. Programs can be NCCP or non-NCCP courses (ex. If Badminton BC hosts a Doubles Coach workshop), as long as they are approved by the CAC. Coaches who do not accumulate the required pro-d points will be required to recertify.

Badminton coaches will be required to accumulate 20 points in 5 years. Typically, NCCP events and evaluations are worth 5 points. For more information about maintenance of certification please refer to the two links below:
